After much waiting, I finally got my Diana mini. The stock kept running out upon arriving Singapore. This is the last remaining piece at Lomo Singapore. I practically force the Sales to let me have it.

Hi! I was looking for Diana Mini and I found your blog. Anyway, I was thinking of either getting a Diana (big) or Diana Mini in Hongkong. Which one would you recommend me? I'm new to toy cameras.
Is it a must to get the flash too?

Hmmm.... it is so difficult. I love them both.
First of all, if you are just going to buy a Diana F+, do note that you can only use 120mm. To use 35mm, you must purchase the 35mm backing. All these will be additonal cost.
Mini uses normal 35mm film which you can easily purchase almost anywhere. It has the same function as Diana F+ except that you will not be able to change the lens.
As for the flash, it is a must have if you do not want to leave the fate to the Sun. Hong Kong has a lot of beautiful night scenary, will be a pity if you can't take pixs at night, dun you think so?
Think to start off, try the Diana mini and see if you really like analogue before investing in something more.
But be careful, this is very addictive. I try so hard not to get all the Dianas.
